Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars debuted in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), consolidating its position as one of the last titles of Mario to the console, and the last to reach America. In 2003, the game resurfaced as part of the Classic series NES & SNES Game Boy Advance (GBA), introducing graphical improvements and a new system of saving, in addition to the function "Run" to speed up the movement through the map. Some minor changes in the gameplay and the translation were also present in this version.
Later, in 2016, Super Mario RPG came to the Virtual Console of the Wii U, and a year later, to the Nintendo 3DS. These versions offered emulation high definition and the possibility of using controls classics or of the portable console, in addition to "Rewind" to go back in time during the battle.
Super Mario RPG is characterized by its colorful 2D graphics, typical of the era of the SNES, with sprites and detailed scenarios vibrant. The soundtrack, composed by Yoko Shimomura, is memorable and fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the game. The combat system, for its part, combines RPG elements with traditional mechanical action, such as attacks against the clock and combos.
It was received with acclaim by the critics and the public, which is considered a cult classic and one of the best RPG SNES. He has been praised for its original story and charming, its memorable characters, its combat system is innovative, and its soundtrack is catchy. History
The story begins in the Mushroom Kingdom, where Mario and Peach enjoying a picnic. Suddenly, Bowser appears and kidnaps Peach once more. Mario chases her to his castle, where he confronts him in an epic battle. However, Bowser reveals that he has obtained a new power thanks to the Sword Smithy, a magic weapon that has fallen from the sky. With this power, Bowser defeats Mario and throws it into the Void. Mario wakes up in a forest strange, where it is known to Mallow, a cloud-shy who joins him on his journey. Together, they arrive at the town of Villa Rosa, where are Geno, a mysterious being who joins them as second mate.
The three friends discover that the Sword Smithy has broken the Star of Desires in seven fragments and has spread all over the world. To restore the Mushroom Kingdom to save Peach, Mario, Mallow and Geno must find and gather the seven parts of the Star. Their journey takes them through different locations, each with its own challenges and enemies. On the way, they encounter new allies, as Bowser (who seeks revenge against Smithy for having deceived), Princess Peach (who has escaped from Bowser's castle), and other memorable characters.
Eventually, Mario and his friends arrive in the World of Anvil, home of the factory of weapons of Smithy. There, they face hordes of mechanical enemies and the powerful minions of the Smithy. In the top of the Tower of the Canyon, Mario and his allies are faced with the very Smithy in an epic battle. After a hard fight, they manage to defeat him and destroy the Sword Smithy.
With the Sword Smithy destroyed, the seven parts of the Star of the Wishes meet, and the Mushroom Kingdom is restored. Peach is released, and Bowser, repented of his actions, he withdrew to his castle. Mario and his friends return home as heroes, acclaimed by all.
