Description

Metroid Originally released in 1986, it introduced a unique blend of adventure and exploration that has become the series' signature feature. Metroid was a pioneer in the action-adventure genre, offering players a vast open world on the planet Zebes to explore, while they faced the dangerous Space Pirates and sought to improve the arsenal and skills of the protagonist, Samus Aran.

In terms of available platforms, Metroid has been re-released and is accessible on several Nintendo consoles over the years, including the Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, as well as part of the selection of pre-installed games on the Nintendo Classic Mini. : Nintendo Entertainment System. This accessibility allows new generations of players to experience the game that laid the foundation for many modern exploration and adventure titles.

Gameplay improvements are a central aspect of the Metroid experience. As players progress, they can find and use a variety of upgrades for Samus, such as the Morphosphere, which allows her to roll through narrow passageways, and the Ice Beam, which can freeze enemies. These improvements are not only essential to the game's progress, but also add a layer of strategy and depth to the gameplay.

However, like any game, Metroid has its challenges and limitations. Some players may find the lack of a map in the original game frustrating, which can make exploration daunting. Additionally, the game can be quite difficult, especially for those not used to NES-era titles.

Metroid's plot is another of its strong points. The game follows Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter, on her mission to stop Space Pirates who have stolen Metroid creatures in order to use them as biological weapons. The story is set against a rich and detailed science fiction backdrop, and has been praised for its ability to immerse players in its universe.

History

The story of Metroid for NES centers on Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter, who is sent by the Galactic Federation to infiltrate the planet Zebes. Her mission is to stop the Space Pirates led by Mother Brain, who plan to use Metroid organisms, capable of draining the life energy of any living being, as biological weapons.

Arriving on Zebes, Samus explores labyrinthine caverns filled with hostile creatures and traps. As he progresses, he discovers upgrades to his suit and arsenal, such as missiles and the iconic Morph Ball, which allows him to roll through narrow tunnels.

Samus faces several bosses, including Kraid and Ridley, two of Mother Brain's lieutenants. Each battle is a challenge that tests his skill and his newly acquired equipment.

Eventually, Samus reaches the core of the Space Pirates' fortress, where he meets Mother Brain. The battle is intense, with Samus dodging attacks and firing missiles until Mother Brain and her glass container are destroyed.

With the destruction of Mother Brain, Samus activates a self-destruct system and must quickly escape the planet before it explodes. In her escape, she reveals her identity as a woman, a surprising twist for the time of the game.
